EMMA'S FIRST DAY AT SIERRA SUR!

First day of being an Auxiliar de Conversación 

Seeing Sierra Sur for the first time in person!

Osuna was a place I had never heard of prior to getting a job as an assistant English teacher at Sierra Sur and once I was accepted, my mom and I booked a flight for September 26th, 2022 to Sevilla and lo and behold, I was in Osuna just a few days later—a town that would become my home for the next year.

I began working that Monday, October 3rd and went in for an hour to meet up with the amazing, talented, and beautiful Yolanda Morillo Bejarano (she's the best coordinator anyone could ever ask for). We talked about what sort of classes I would be teaching and when I would get my schedule officially. 

Mom still has me taking 1st day of school pictures...

That week I didn't do a lot, mostly observing and getting to know the students and staff. But it sure was exciting for me to have some friendly faces around town as well as get a feel for the environment that I would be working in for the rest of the school year.

It sure is weird to think about how much has changed since that first day and how far along I've come. But one thing that hasn't changed is how lovely it is to see people from Sierra Sur all over Osuna.
